“I wanted to visually represent the loss of rainforest in a way that tries to convey the impact. By removing 20% of the text, the sentence ‘TWENTY PERCENT OF THE AMAZON RAINFOREST IS ALREADY GONE’ becomes difficult to make sense of. This works for me because the destruction of the rainforest doesn’t make sense.
I hope this design confronts people into thinking about what is being lost and what a large proportion of the rainforest that really is.”
